Class Etiquette and time:
Try not to eat 2-3 hours before class because this can interfere with digestion.
Don’t wear perfumes. Others may be allergic or sensitive to the scent.
Arrive at least 10 minutes early.
Let the instructor know of all health issues.
Please leave your cell in your car or turn it off. If you need to have it on let the instructor know.
Take off your shoes. Yoga is practices bare foot.
NO PAIN. NO PAIN. Stretch to slight tension, never stretch to pain.
Be aware of your breath. Breathing allows the muscles to relax. If you notice that you are holding your breath come out of the pose.
Take breaks as needed. A great pose to go into is Child’s pose.
Be kind to your body.
Yoga is not competitive. Do each pose in stages and go only where your body wants to. This will help to prevent injury. You will get to where you need to be faster by listening to your body. The journey is what matters not the destination. (What is the destination, anyway?)
Stay for the whole class.
Try different teachers and styles.
